Since 1997, the United Way of Becker County has brought together student and staff volunteers from three school districts, along with volunteers from workplaces, clubs, and organizations, for one special day each year dedicated to serving the community. Volunteers assist senior and disabled citizens with yard and garden cleanup, window washing, and other outdoor tasks that help individuals remain in their homes longer and maintain their independence.
In addition to helping residents, volunteers also complete projects that improve the overall quality of life throughout Becker County. Past projects have included facility improvements, roadside cleanup, and park enhancement projects benefiting local communities and nonprofit organizations.
In 2026, the Day of Caring reached another incredible milestone by completing 175 project sites in a single day — a testament to the compassion, hard work, and community spirit of everyone involved.
