Our Staff.
LuAnn Porter has served as the executive director of United Way of Becker County since 1991. LuAnn is committed to cultivating relationships and partnerships within the community that have an impact on the quality of life in Becker County. LuAnn works part-time and is United Way of Becker County's only staff person.
LuAnn is dedicated to operating the United Way of Becker County in the leanest and most efficient manner possible. Office space and clerical support is donated in-kind through the Rural Minnesota Concentrated Employment Program. Post office support is donated through the Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce. The United Way of Becker County is able to operate economically and efficiently through the generous contributions of area businesses and volunteers and ensure that more than 90 cents of every dollar contributed to United Way is shared with its community partners.
